Chad P. Bouchard, D.O. is a board-certified diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He grew up in a small town in Northern Maine where he also received his undergraduate degree from the University of Maine-Fort Kent. He graduated from medical school at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and was selected for the F. Edward Hebert Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship Program. Following a transitional internship at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, he performed a General Medical Officer tour with 110th Chemical Battalion at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Afterward, he completed his Ophthalmology residency at Madigan Army Medical Center. While on active duty, Dr. Bouchard was selected as a team member to perform eye surgery for humanitarian missions with Joint Task Force-Bravo to Honduras and the Dominican Republic.
Dr. Bouchard was honorably discharged from the Army in 2017 and subsequently went into private practice as a comprehensive ophthalmologist, cataract, and refractive surgeon. Soon afterward, he was then selected for and completed fellowship training in Vitreoretinal Surgery and Uveitis at Albany Medical Center/Lions Eye Institute in Albany, New York. While there, he was actively involved in numerous clinical trials for the treatment of diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration. He holds professional memberships with the American Society of Retina Specialists and the American Academy of Ophthalmology where he held the distinction as an Advocacy Ambassador.
During his free time, he can be found hiking, cycling, skiing, or adventuring in the outdoors with his wife, Whitney, and their two daughters, Aspen and Violet.
